Why drainage matters more than the wall
Most retaining walls fail not because of the block or stone, but because no one engineered the drainage behind them. We install a proper gravel backfill zone with perforated drain tile that exits daylight on every wall — even short ones. Without it, hydrostatic pressure from a single heavy rain can bow or topple a wall that looks rock solid.
- Compacted gravel base
- Drainage gravel behind the wall
- 4" perforated drain tile with outlets
- Geogrid reinforcement on taller walls
